On an employment note...my employment history has always been in large corporations, which includes the B.C. Ferries right out of high school, Weston/Loblaws Corporation, Hollinger Group/Sterling Newspapers, Great Canadian Casino...working in various departments and holding positions at multiple levels. I learned a lot of very valuable business skills, and along the way learned that much of corporate life is not where I wanted to be for the rest of my life.

I semi-retired early so I could start my own businesses and to get into self-employment which resulted in some successes and some failures. Now I have two businesses, one that that allows me to use the majority of my time helping homeowners with my home improvement skills (the Happy Home Handyman) and one that utilizes my business skills and acumen (The VILLAGERS Entrepreneur Education Centre).

My handyman experience comes from over 40 years of home ownership that included learning about and working on renovations, upgrades, expansions, repairs, maintenance, painting, landscaping, and more on my own homes and on friend's and family's homes. It's amazing how much you can learn and how good you can get at something when you put a significant amount of time into it. In other words, I'm not perfect but I am very competent in the services I offer.
